Morata or Giroud….

Not a good weekend for a Chelsea Fan! Chelsea has just lost 2-1 against Manchester United two days ago on February 25th 2018.

Willian scored in minute 32th, equalised by Romelu Lukaku in minute 39th, and finally Lingard gave three points for Manchester United in minute 75th.

Manchester United retained their second place while Chelsea now sit in 5th position in Premier League Table.

I as Chelsea fan oftenly ask myself, where is Chelsea Talisman? Oh how I miss Diego Costa, Drogba, Lampard, and leader like John Terry.

Let’s discuss Morata and Giroud.

Morata against Arsenal

Against Arsenal was the Morata’s worst performance. Three golden chances to score goals were all thrown away.

The first scoring chance, he was in a one-on-one position against Cech and put the ball horribly wide.

Morata had second chance and could have made amends at 1-1, tried to chip the ball but his shot was above the Arsenal goal.

He even had the third chance to score a goal and could have won the game for Chelsea. Petr Cech made the night a miserable for him.

Giroud against West Brom

If we flashed back the game against West Brom, Chelsea was struggling to get 3 points after 2 bad losses against Bournemouth (3-0) and Watford (4-1). They needed someone to help them to get their confidence back in scoring goals.

The first goal came from linked-up or 1-2 play between Hazard and Giroud! That is the show that I’ve been waiting from a Main Striker!

So who is better….

In my point of view, Morata has much homework to do if he want to continue to play in Premier League. It is clear obviously that Giroud is far much experienced than Morata.

What I really don’t like from Morata is he is easily to fall down! I mean yeah you can do that trick so the defenders might be avoiding touching you and may be fool the ref to give you a foul and get a freekick and less likely a Penalty.

I could not understand why Conte brought on Morata in for Barca game and put him starter in Manchester game. Yes, Morata has pace, yes he is far much younger than Giroud, but what for is a striker if he does not score or link-up or even help the team to win??

Morata is supposed to be “Big Man” holding the ball, create spaces and be linked-up man for wingers like with Hazard, Willi, or Pedro.

Anyway, Morata is still young, he has time to adapt, learn from mistakes , be tougher and work harder. For me at the moment, Giroud deserves more to be in the Starting Line-up than Morata…

Let me know what you think!
